Brooklyn Bridge Park Family Photography Session
Matt & Kaitlyn and their adorable little boys are from WI. I had first connected with Kaitlyn through a Facebook group for entrepreneurs due to both of us being interested in photography (kinda of crazy we even connected in there considering the group has thousands of people in it.) In September of 2017, their world was turned upside down as their oldest son, Lincoln was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma.

They have spent many months in NYC doing treatment at Sloan Kettering. It was during this time that we connected in person and I captured a few photos for them in fall 2018.

At this point things were looking very hopeful that this battle with cancer was won. But a month later they discovered a heartbreaking relapse. They have worked endlessly seeking out the best options to strength and heal his little body.
If you would want to support them in this time check out Lincoln’s Facebook page for more info.

The journey they have been on since is heartredening, inspiring and challenging as they have had to walk by faith and courage in God as they seek treatments and the path to healing for their little warrior. They are a true testimony of how leaning on God’s grace and strength in very dark times.

Kaitlyn’s love for her boys shines strong. Her example as a mother who has sacrificed so much is challenging. The love they have as a family together is precious.

Lincoln has had to face more in his 4 years than most of us have ever dreamed of in a lifetime. From hospital visits, to scans, to treatments, to ports, to horrific side affects, he walks bravely and strongly through it all.

This city has held a thousand memories – some incredibly hard and some really good and special – for them in this journey and I’m grateful I could capture a tiny part of it for them.
