In our journey to moving to the OKC area this past year we had to spend a few months in the spring in the Lancaster, PA area. While living there I got asked to do this outdoor newborn session for some friends of ours. Years ago this sweet family attended the same small college as my husband in another area of the state. And they were the brave souls who let me first every practice my photography learning on them. They were my first maternity and newborn “sessions” way way back when I was just starting to practice and see if I was going to do this work! I’m grateful to say my work has come quite a long way since then…and that they were willing to ask me again! So it was quite delightful to get to capture photos for them once again now as they welcomed their 3rd baby.
When we had planned the session it was late spring and weather was acting rather difficult. :/ it was a spring day and the weather ended up being a bit cooler than we had hoped for sadly. But they grabbed hot drinks and I brought blankets and we made the best of it! I love adding in little touches like that to sessions. Bringing your favorite drinks or favorite toys will always make me happy!
The trees were blooming in beautiful glory. One thing beautiful in the East is the grass stays green beneath the snow so spring is quite green.
Getting to capture this little family was lovely and it shows that newborn sessions can be done in so many different ways!
